On Monday, May 23rd, we raised over $44,000 at the 3rd Annual A.L.S. "DRIVE FORE THE GREEN" Charity Golf Classic held at the Pocasset Golf Club. 112 golfers helped to make our event successful and all proceeds go to benefit the Foundation's Scholarship Program.
This year's event featured special guest auctioneer, Susan Wornick, of WCVB TV Channel 5 and guest speakerAddie Kerner, our first scholarship recipient who is now graduating from college! Bob Murray Sr. also spoke to the crowded room. His son has A.L.S. and has benefitted from the Foundation's Jan Ferrara "Get Away For A Day" Fund.
Hats for the golfers were provided by Thomas J. O'Neill Inc., golf balls were courtesy of Denmark's Cleaning Service, carts were sponsored by Allied Recycling Center and Rhode Island Metals, lunch was sponsored by Roche Bros. Supermarkets, dinner was sponsored by HHonors Hilton Worldwide and Needham Collision was the towel sponsor.
Deepest thanks to our Hole-In-One prize sponsors, Battles Buick GMC of Bourne and Golf-ol-o-gy of Hyannis who offered the opportunity to win several great prizes.
