Every year, our Foundation hosts several major events: "DEEP STACK" Texas Hold 'Em Charity Poker Tournament, Mother's Day "Cruise to Cure A.L.S.", Annual A.L.S. "DRIVE FORE THE GREEN" Charity Golf Classic, "Danny's" Motorcycle Run, and our signature event: "Cliff" Walk for A.L.S.

Moya Brennan, widely considered the First Lady of Celtic Music and Irish Harp Virtuoso, Cormac De Barra will perform at the Cotuit Center for the Arts, Friday, March 9 at 7:30pm, followed by a meet and greet with the artist, cash bar featuring Cape Cod Beer, house and premium wines and signature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Tickets are $38.50 each. Tickets are also available for the show only for $28.50.

Moya Brennan was host of last year’s PBS special on the History of Irish Music, Music of Ireland - Welcome Home. She has recently performed with the group Tea with the Maggies, and collaborated on the benefit song for the Victims of The Magdalene Laundries “From a Distance” with Sinead O’Connor and Daniel O’Donnell.

The A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation has booked our next Mother's Day Cruise aboard the SS Lobster Roll! Boarding will begin at 11:45 a.m.and the day will feature a delightful Mother's Day Luncheon Cruise to benefit ALS. An inclusive buffet lunch featuring Prime Rib, Lobster Savannah, Chicken Ceasar Salad, and Pasta Primavera will be served! Amber Crowley will once again entertain us with her unique genre of original music as we cruise around the beautiful Sesuit Harbor!

Send or bring your favorite "mom" (sister, niece, stepmom, wife, daughter, grandmother) on a 90 minute lunch and scenic cruise and enjoy an afternoon of sight-seeing, delicious food, cash bar and raffles, all for a good cause... to raise funds for scientific research and to assist those living with Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation invites you to join us at our 4th Annual A.L.S. "Drive Fore The Green" Charity Golf Classic on Monday, May 21st, 2012 at the Pocasset Golf Club. Cost is $160 per person or $600 per foursome. (Foursomes will be given preference) The Tournament is a Scramble Format with a Shotgun start at 1:15 p.m. and registration begins at 11:00 a.m.

At our May 2011 event we raised over $44,000 as 112 golfers helped make it our most successful golfing event to date! All proceeds go to benefit the Foundation's Scholarship Program, which offsets the financial strain of a college education for a child of an A.L.S. patient.

Danny's Run is held in loving memory of Danny Perry (March 2, 1929 - March 22, 1995) Danny was a beloved member of the New Bedford community and his memory lives on in the lives of those he touched. The Perry family is raising money for A.L.S. patients and their families going through the same battle they faced in hopes of making the journey a little easier than the one they had.

This event is being organized by Danny Perry's daughter, Jacqueline Tome in his memory. Stay tuned for details!!!

SAVE THE DATE! The A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation is proud to announce that the 16th Annual "Cliff Walk" For A.L.S. will take place on Sunday, September 9, 2012! Come spend an exhilerating day on the beautiful, scenic Cape Cod Canal (at the Buzzards Bay Recreation Area) and join hundreds of walkers for a full day of fun and fundraising, featuring activities for the whole family, including raffles, prizes, games, lunch, and of course a 7-mile walk along the canal!

Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. and the walk starts at 11:00 a.m. This event is rain or shine. If you would like to help patients and their families living with Lou Gehrigs Disease, start gathering pledges today.

Walk by yourself, or start a team with family, friends and co-workers!

We will also be placing bricks around the A.L.S. "Family Tree" in honor of those we love and those we've lost battling Lou Gehrig's Disease.
