Mothers Day “Cruise to Cure A.L.S.” Raises $4,000
 Thanks to all who joined us on our 2nd Annual Mother’s Day “Cruise to Cure A.L.S.” Sponsored by the Wareham Wal*Mart and held in Loving Memory of Joan E. MacLeod, on Saturday May 10, 2008. The sold-out luncheon cruise was the perfect Mother’s Day gift for the woman who has it all, and raised over $4,000 for the fight against A.L.S.
The MacLeod Family hold the annual fundraiser in memory of their mother Joan. Joan battled A.L.S. valiantly in her final years. Joan’s compassion for others and strength of character inspired her devoted children to help others in their fight against Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Bill MacLeod spoke about his mother and also took a moment to remember her dear friend, Tom Osborne, the wonderful man who was the love of Joan E. MacLeod’s life, who passed away earlier this year.
Event goers were encouraged to take mom on a luncheon cruise around Sesuit Harbor on the SS. Lobster Roll as a Mother’s Day gift and enjoy an afternoon of sightseeing, delicious food and raffles. THANKS to everyone who purchased raffle tickets, we raised over $500 on the raffle alone!
The delicious buffet was prepared by the Chef/Owner of the Sesuit Harbor Café, JC Cuchetti. The flawless meal included ½ Lobster Savannah (baked stuffed), Black Angus Prime Rib, Vegetable Pasta Primavera, Chicken Caesar Salad and dessert.
