Wal-Mart Makes a Generous Contribution to our Patient
Fund
This March, Halifax, MA, Wal-Mart employees presented a $1,000 donation to our Foundation’s patient services program.
This is the sixth annual award the Halifax Wal-Mart has given to us, and on behalf of our patients and all those living with this terrible disease, we thank them for their partnership. With these funds, we will continue to offer our unique in-house patient service program which offers financial aid for handicap vehicle conversions, make a wish style grants, camperships for children of patients and many other benefits for patients and their families.
Linda Wilson, Good Works Coordinator, and Manager Vincent Roberts presented the check to Donna Jordan, Co-Founder/Vice President of our Foundation. Foundation Donna summed up the generosity of the Halifax Wal-Mart employees. “Linda Wilson and Vincent Roberts demonstrate real compassion for our patients and recognize the importance of the services we provide. We are so grateful for their continued support and friendship throughout the years.”
Donna lost her beloved brother Cliff to this terrible disease when he was only thirty-six years old. She started the A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation to ease the financial and emotional burden Lou Gehrig’s Disease can place on patients and their families.
Linda Wilson is proud to count Mr. Roberts as a member of the Halifax Wal-Mart family. “He’s worked his way up from cart pusher to manager over the past ten years.” For his part, Roberts is “very excited to have the opportunity to establish myself in such a wonderful community”.
Thank you to Wal-Mart for your continued empathy and generosity towards those living with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. We know Wal-Mart is inundated with requests from commendable organizations, so thank you again for believing in our cause and choosing to support our mission.
