Wareham Wal-Mart Contributes to the Fight
Against Lou Gehrig’s Disease
This November, Wareham Wal-Mart employees presented a $500 donation to the A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation, Inc., a local non-profit, to support its efforts in the fight against A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Yvonne Mendes, Community Involvement Coordinator, Manager John Bennett, and Assistant Manager Karen Stetson presented the check to Bill MacLeod of Onset, Board Member, A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation.
Over the past 3 years the Wareham location has donated $2,000 to the Foundation in support of their annual Cliff Walk for A.L.S. Fundraiser held every September on the Cape Cod Cana. Next year’s walk will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2008.
“The financial and moral support provided by the generous folks at the Wareham Wal-Mart strengthen our determination to find a cure,” said MacLeod . “ Yvonne Mendes and the Wal-Mart family have true compassion for our patients and recognize the importance of the services we provide.”
The A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization dedicated to raising funds for cutting edge research and patient services for those suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
